Purpose: Improve Skills
Time Spent in ALEKS: 45 minutes per day, 4-5 days per week
ALEKS Course: Algebra 1


Overall Experience:

Overall, our ALEKS experience has been great. My son learned a great deal, and did very well on his testing as a result.

What challenges did the student face in math prior to using ALEKS?

My son needed better explanations than I could provide.

What were you looking for in an online math tool?

I was looking for a challenging, but engaging, math program to help my son with Algebra.

What math progress has the student experienced since using ALEKS?

My son's math ability and confidence has grown tremendously.

How does the student feel about his/her progress in ALEKS?

My son learns more with ALEKS than before. He is advancing more quickly and has gained confidence.

Are there any best practices you would like to share with other ALEKS users?

I found it helpful to set session lengths or predetermine the number of topics to be completed per day in order to motivate my son to do his work.
