Senior Sales and Marketing Consultant

Position Details:

ALEKS Corporation, an educational software publishing company with cutting-edge, web-based technology, seeks a talented, motivated, and technology-savvy individual to generate new business opportunities for the higher education market. This is an opportunity to join an exciting company that is transforming education.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, this individual will build consensus among top professors at first rank U.S. universities around designated ALEKS course product(s). This position will target and engage prospective customers through field work, outbound cold and follow-up call and emails to generate qualified sales leads and sales. This position will also be responsible for delivering compelling and persuasive online and in-person presentation of ALEKS course products to qualified prospects, maintaining a detailed database of customer inquiries and follow up status, working with marketing to develop effective marketing and sales campaigns, creating and executing technology symposia, and attending conventions, exhibits, presentations, etc. as needed.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of five years of sales experience with a successful (quantifiable) sales record that includes award-level achievements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively sell educational technology
  • Advanced prospecting skills, including successful sales lead generation from a variety of sources
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Superior interpersonal skill with peers, superiors, customers, and other partners
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Technology savvy, with ability to learn software and technology platforms quickly and experience and skill in software presentations to customers and prospects
  • Experience with SalesForce.com CRM technology a plus
  • This position requires approximately 25% travel
  • Background check and college transcripts may be required of final candidates
