ALEKS Corporation is a fast-growing educational technology development company, located in Orange County, California, which produces cutting edge web based educational course products in math, science and business.
The qualified individual will be responsible for utilizing in-depth understanding of the ALEKS software and the context in which each product will be used to identify functional problems, recognize contextual issues, and recommend solutions. Develop and maintain knowledge of ALEKS products in order to consider whether a software change to one product might need to be applied to other products. Communicate technical issues and project details with QC/QA team and technical developers. This individual will assist technical support in reproducing and resolving customer issues. Recognize and communicate any content layout issues. Research and test compatibility with various older plug-ins.
Requirements:
The candidate must be conscientious, show exceptional attention to details and be able to interact well with others. Strong oral and written communications skills are essential, as well as good follow-up and follow through skills to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
The candidate must be able to test on a variety of platforms, including MAC OS, Microsoft OS, and most common browsers. The Candidate should be able to install and uninstall third party software and add-ons. Practical Knowledge of languages such as Java, JavaScript and Flash etc. required. Knowledge of JAWS or any other Windows Screen Reading Software preferred but not required.
The candidate should be able to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Ability to adapt to changes in priorities and new situations as it comes. Excellent interpersonal and time-management skills are a must. Ability to debug, test and troubleshoot software. Ability to diagnose and problem solve typical LAN networking issues encountered in school labs a plus.
