ALEKS was easy to use to set up classes and enroll students. 


Scenario

What challenges did the class or school face in math prior to using ALEKS?
Homeschool students needed more demo lessons, especially if parents were not able or present to explain concepts.

How many days per week is class time dedicated to ALEKS?
5 days per week.

What is the average length of a class period when ALEKS is used?
60 minutes per day.


Implementation

How do you implement ALEKS?
Students work daily at home.

Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?
No.

How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
Daily.

How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
We inform the parents of progress printouts and worksheets so that they can keep up with their child.


Grading

Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?
50-90 percent.

How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
I haven't used ALEKS yet as part of grading.

Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
It's individually monitored by parents.


Learning Outcomes

Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
Although my first students have only been on it a few weeks, they have progressed a lot since their first assessments. They like seeing the percentage of increase as well as how much they have left to finish.
