08/16/2013 - ALEKS Efficacy Study Published by the Journal of Chemical Education

The Journal of Chemical Education recently published a study on the impact of online homework on student performance in general chemistry, conducted by Jack Eichler and Junelyn Peeples from the University of California, Riverside. The findings show that responsive online homework in general, and ALEKS in particular, has a significant positive impact on student performance and final exam scores. Students are now awarded certificates for reaching achievement goals set by the teacher and for completing a course in ALEKS. Educators can now easily mix and match data from existing ALEKS reports to create their own custom reports. Custom reports are sent directly to the ALEKS Inbox as an Excel document, and can be scheduled to run for multiple classes.

03/15/2013 - New Feature Gives Instructors Better Insight Into Student Learning

The new Learning Sequence Log allows educators to see how students work through each ALEKS topic, giving them even more insight into student learning behaviors. With this new feature, educators can see each problem that students attempt, when they attempt them, how they use the ALEKS tutorials, and more.

10/23/2012 - K-12 Math Courses Being Released for Compatibility on the iPad and Other Tablets

ALEKS Corporation is proud to announce the release of the first phase of its iPad and tablet-ready mathematics courses. ALEKS math courses will soon be compatible with a wide range of tablet devices, including the Apple iPad and select Android tablets. ALEKS is upgrading approximately half of its math courses to include compatibility with a variety of tablet devices throughout this academic year, and will be releasing the balance of its math courses during the next academic year. 

We are pleased to announce ALEKS QuickTables as the first of the company’s iPad and tablet-compatible products. With its highly-visual format and individualized approach to learning, ALEKS QuickTables helps students get comfortable solving math problems on a tablet device.

05/18/2012 - New Subscription Management System Helps K-12 Administrators Easily Manage their ALEKS Subscriptions

The new Subscription Management System (SMS) is now available to all K-12 ALEKS administrators. With the SMS, administrators can easily manage their ALEKS subscriptions by monitoring their availability, placing them on hold, and moving them where needed. 04/23/2012 - New K-12 Report Supports IEPs and Differentiated Instruction

With the improved report for a single student in this class (pie chart), K-12 educators can view detailed student performance data to support the creation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This report is available for immediate use and provides real-time data to monitor each student’s progress through the course material. This allows teachers to determine the unique needs of each student and effectively differentiate instruction. 03/27/2012 - First Learning Tool to Achieve LTI 1.1 Conformance

We are pleased to announce that ALEKS was the first learning tool to achieve IMS Learning Tools Interoperability v1.1 Conformance for ALEKS Higher Education course products.  Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI) allows remote tools and content to be integrated into a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Blackboard, eCollege, etc.  LTI conformance enables ALEKS customers to easily implement Single Sign On capabilities for students and instructors.  Additionally, LTI 1.1 conformance enables ALEKS customers to seamlessly integrate one data point from ALEKS into any LTI 1.1-compliant LMS.  For example, customers can now smoothly integrate each student’s ALEKS course mastery percentage to an LMS without the need for intermediary software.  As LTI continues to evolve, we expect additional data integration benefits for ALEKS customers.

03/20/2012 - New ALEKS Community to Share Ideas, Tips, and Best Practices

We are excited to announce the release of ALEKS Community, a new discussion forum for our K-12 and Higher Education customers to share ideas, tips, and best practices with their ALEKS colleagues. A K-12 ALEKS Community is available for ALEKS K-12 educators, and separate ALEKS Communities are available for HE Math, HE Business, HE Science, and HE Behavioral Science instructors. Customers are encouraged to share their expertise and collaborate with their ALEKS colleagues by posting new topics or commenting on existing discussion threads. Registered ALEKS customers can access their ALEKS Community directly from within their ALEKS account by clicking on the “ALEKS Community” button.

10/12/2011 - New K-12 Course Prepares Students for Math Portion of the SAT Reasoning Test

Based on valuable customer feedback, ALEKS has released a new course to help students achieve mastery of the math topics on the SAT Reasoning Test. Mastery of SAT Math enables students to efficiently refresh and fill gaps in their knowledge of the mathematics tested on the SAT. 04/30/2007 - University Study Shows Math Success Using ALEKS at Black Hills State

ALEKS has greatly boosted student progress and retention in college algebra at Black Hills State University.  In a study at Black Hills, ALEKS was used to replace traditional homework assignments in a college algebra course covering 251 students. The results clearly indicate that the ALEKS sections dramatically outperformed the control groups. Measured 14 months later, ALEKS students had still retained their advantage and continued to outperform the non-ALEKS control groups.

11/09/2006 - NEW State Standards Reporting by Class, School, or District

K-12 teachers and administrators can now monitor class, school and district progress toward state standards mastery.  State standards reports display the average number of standards mastered by students in the class, school, or district.  These reports are available with ALEKS elementary and middle school products with state standards integration.  Teachers can access class state standards reports in the Basic Teacher Module under "Reporting". Administrators can access school and district state standards reports in the Advanced Teacher Module under "Server Stats".

06/15/2006 - ALEKS Corporation Releases Fully Bilingual English-Spanish Mathematics Products
We are pleased to announce the release of fully bilingual English-Spanish products for grades 4-8.  ALEKS has hit a milestone with the full translation of K-8 products and will continue the translation with all of its high school courses, which already have much of their content in Spanish.

02/18/2005 - ALEKS for the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)
ALEKS now offers preparation for the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). This product is designed to help California high school students prepare for the mathematics portion of the exam. Beginning with the 2005-2006 school years, all California high school students must pass this exam to graduate from high school.
09/30/2004 - ALEKS for PreCalculus and High School Geometry

ALEKS now offers High School Geometry. In addition, a new version of ALEKS for Precalculus, which features an improved interface and a new graphing calculator, has been released.
