It is frustrating to watch students who are bored because they are repeating material they already understand, while the instructor spends time teaching the other students who have not acquired the concepts yet.

Yes.

How often do you use the ALEKS Instructor Module?
I use the Instructor Module daily throughout the term.

How do you incorporate ALEKS homework assignments into your course?
I allow students to print ALEKS worksheets as desired.

How do you incorporate ALEKS scheduled Assessments into your course?
I schedule one assessment for the mid-term and one for the final exam.

How do you modify your regular instructional approach as a result of ALEKS?
I will use ALEKS in lower level developmental math courses.

How do you use information from ALEKS to focus your teaching?
I use the ALEKS assessment results to track students' progress and participation.

How do you use ALEKS in conjunction with any other learning management systems, course management programs, etc.?
I use Blackboard to communicate with students and to supplement ALEKS instruction with material from the textbook.

85 percent.

Number of ALEKS topics completed makes up 85 percent of the total grade, while textbook work makes up 15 percent.

Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities?
85 percent of the course work is ALEKS homework.

Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
Students who complete 238 topics earn an A, 211 topics earns a B, and 185 objectives earns a C.

How do you track student progress in ALEKS?
I use the ALEKS assessment results to track students' progress and participation.

Do you notice that students who spend more time in ALEKS perform better in the course than those students who spend less time in ALEKS?
Definitely.

Would you attribute any improved student performance in the course to ALEKS methodology or to some other factor?
ALEKS proves to be the best tool I have ever used to learn and teach math.
