ALEKS Course: High School Geometry

Overall Experience:

My son loves ALEKS because it explains concepts well and allows him to work at his own pace. The pie chart motivates him to do more each day. He appreciates being in control of his workload, and as a result, works even harder.

What challenges did the student face in math prior to using ALEKS?

My son was really frustrated by unnecessary repetition. With ALEKS, he can continue on to the next topic as soon as he's mastered the previous topic.

What were you looking for in an online math tool?

I was looking for a math program that provided easy explanations and support. So far with ALEKS, he hasn't needed our help at all.

What math progress has the student experienced since using ALEKS?

My son actually said recently that he liked math. Before ALEKS, those words would never have come out of his mouth.

How does the student feel about his/her progress in ALEKS?

My son is very encouraged by his quick progress in ALEKS. He has control over how he works and what he decides to study with ALEKS. This independence gives him the confidence and motivation to finish the course. He is already looking forward to beginning the next course.
