Time Spent in ALEKS: 45 minutes per day, 4-5 days per week

Overall Experience:

ALEKS is an excellent program for our family; my kids are learning so much. I like that they are assessed regularly to make sure that they know and understand the topics presented. The pie chart is very helpful for my kids to see how much they have accomplished and what they have left to learn.


What challenges did the student face in math prior to using ALEKS?

My kids had difficulty retaining information, and understanding how to apply concepts. In addition, my son started asking for better explanations than I could provide.

What were you looking for in an online math tool?

I was looking for a challenging and engaging math program that would help my kids retain information.


What math progress has the student experienced since using ALEKS?

My kids are showing an increased understanding and retention of math skills with ALEKS, not to mention their confidence has grown tremendously.


How does the student feel about his/her progress in ALEKS?

My kids feel more confident in their math skills, which motivates them to learn more. They have learned more with ALEKS than before, and are advancing rapidly.


Are there any best practices you would like to share with other ALEKS users?

I found it helpful to set session lengths or predetermine the number of topics to be completed per day in order to motivate my children to complete their work.
