Overall Experience:

My son likes ALEKS. He knows that if he doesn't understand a concept it is okay, and he can keep working on it until he does understand. He has Attention Deficit Disorder, but with ALEKS he keeps his focus for the time that is allotted for math. I am going to sign my high school student up for Geometry.

What challenges did the student face in math prior to using ALEKS?

My son had trouble understanding concepts equally.

What were you looking for in an online math tool?

I wanted a math program that would allow learning, while also showing skills that were missing.

What math progress has the student experienced since using ALEKS?

My son's ALEKS Pie is progressing nicely.

How does the student feel about his/her progress in ALEKS?

Since starting ALEKS, a big change has occurred - my son actually likes math! He really likes that he can see exactly where he is and what he is learning.

Are there any best practices you would like to share with other ALEKS users?

Be consistent.
