Purpose: Individualized Tutoring
Time Spent in ALEKS: 20-30 minutes per day, 4-5 days per week
Time Spent in QuickTables: 10 minutes per day, 4-5 days per week
Total Time Spent Per Course: 40 hours per course
ALEKS Course: Mathematics - LV 5 (with QuickTables)

Overall Experience:

ALEKS has been a helpful curriculum in that it has alleviated some of the frustration that my son was experiencing in being taught one-on-one. ALEKS is great for review and mastering math facts. I love the reporting aspect of ALEKS, so that I regularly receive assessments of my son's progress. 

What challenges did the student face in math prior to using ALEKS?

My son had difficulty in memorizing facts, and had trouble understanding concepts.

What were you looking for in an online math tool?

I was looking for a comprehensive, interactive curriculum.

What math progress has the student experienced since using ALEKS?

I have seen less frustration and greater confidence in the concepts my son understands.

How does the student feel about his/her progress in ALEKS?

Overall, he is proud when he is able to master a topic. He feels more confident that he will progress in math.

Are there any best practices you would like to share with other ALEKS users?

Use it regularly - even in the summer!
