Ottawa, Canada Scenario: Homeschool Core Curriculum Purpose: Individualized Tutoring Time Spent in ALEKS: 1 hour per day, 5 days per week ALEKS Course: Mathematics - MS/LV 6 Overall Experience:
We really enjoy ALEKS, and appreciate the fact that it has helped to eliminate arguments between my daughter and me.
What challenges did the student face in math prior to using ALEKS?
Our biggest problem was that I had no way to measure my daughter's knowledge. I didn't know what she had mastered, or what she had left to learn.
What were you looking for in an online math tool?
I was looking for a math program that provided support, feedback, and assessments; all while maintaining her interest.
What math progress has the student experienced since using ALEKS?
My daughter is learning new things and really understanding the topics in ALEKS.
How does the student feel about his/her progress in ALEKS?
We are new to ALEKS, and are still learning the process. I do enjoy seeing my daughter learn each of the topics.
Are there any best practices you would like to share with other ALEKS users? I recommend being nearby when your kids are working on ALEKS in case they have questions. |
