Description: North Carolina’s 26 independent electric cooperatives sponsor the Bright Ideas grant program. The purpose of the Bright Ideas education grant program is to improve education in North Carolina classrooms by awarding grants to North Carolina K-12 teachers for innovative, classroom-based projects that would not otherwise be funded. Grantees are selected on a competitive evaluation process done by each local electric cooperative. To find out if your school is eligible, search the foundation’s website database. Teachers may only submit one application per year.

Eligibility: The foundation only accepts applications from teachers in North Carolina certified K-12 schools.
