Mishicot, WI Grade(s): K - 12 Scenario: One-to-One Laptop Program, Computers in Classroom, Home Access Purpose: Intervention, Enrichment/Gifted and Talented, At-Risk Students, Supplement ALEKS Portion of Curriculum: 2% Time Spent in ALEKS: 1-2 hours per week, 20-30 hours per term ALEKS Course: Mathematics - LV 3 (with QuickTables), Mathematics - LV 4 (with QuickTables), Mathematics - LV 5 (with QuickTables), Middle School Math Course 2, Middle School Math Course 3, Algebra Readiness, Algebra 1, High School Geometry Dennis Kostac, Math Coach Our experience with ALEKS has been very positive. Students enjoy working on ALEKS and have shown progress. We have used it for remedial work and for accelerated work. Eventually, we would like to incorporate ALEKS with our advanced level Algebra to prepare them for Pre-Calculus and Calculus.

Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?
No. How do you structure your class period with ALEKS? It is used on an individual basis in some cases. An intervention class uses it one to two days per week. How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home? As much as possible. I would like to see at least three hours per week. How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS? It is an ongoing process. Grading
How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
