We have students with poor math scores and gaps in their education.

How many days per week is class time dedicated to ALEKS?
5 days per week.

What is the average length of a class period when ALEKS is used?
30 minutes.

Implementation

How do you implement ALEKS?
It is provided for students scoring lower than 45 percent on ITBS. These students go to the computer lab daily for 35 minutes.

Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?
I am aligning ALEKS with the chapters in the textbook.

How do you structure your class period with ALEKS?
Students that do not go to ALEKS stay in the classroom and work on extended reading activities.

How did you modify your regular teaching approach as a result of ALEKS?
I refer to ALEKS. I will alert students about what we will be working on next if they want to get a head start using the program.

How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
I informed parents at conferences that this is available for them to work on at any time when they are at home.

How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
I spoke with parents.

Grading

No.

How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
I do not incorporate ALEKS into my grading system.

Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
No.

Learning Outcomes

Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
I have seen improvements in my class in the form of students being aware of what is going on daily. They are proud and excited about being more familiar with math.
