The students work diligently and ask questions when they need help. I let the students use small whiteboards to show their work on. I believe the content is very appropriate. I'm looking into it for my own children who are in a different school district.
What challenges did the class or school face in math prior to using ALEKS?
I have students that are very far behind grade level, as well as some who are on grade level or above it.

3 days per week.

They use ALEKS three days a week, and I go around and help them by answering questions.
Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?
No, they are free to cover the topics in any order that they wish.
How do you structure your class period with ALEKS?
They use ALEKS the entire class period three days per week.
How did you modify your regular teaching approach as a result of ALEKS?
I have not modified my regular teaching approach.
How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
It is not required as many of my students do not have home access.
How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
I don't at this time because there is no home access.
Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?
How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
It is 100 percent of their grade.
Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
I monitor time spent, but not necessarily progress.
Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
Although student sentiment varies, they all like being able to change objectives when they don't feel like they are being successful.
Are there any best practices you would like to share with other teachers implementing ALEKS?
I use food to motivate them to complete objectives and complete pieces of their pie.
