What challenges did the class or school face in math prior to using ALEKS?
Our students have trouble meeting goals and expectations.

How many days per week is class time dedicated to ALEKS?
4 days per week.

What is the average length of a class period when ALEKS is used?
10-15 minutes.


Implementation

How do you implement ALEKS?
We use ALEKS to make up for deficits in student learning.

Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?
No.

How do you structure your class period with ALEKS?
In class, we use ALEKS as a warm up for math. My resource students need assistance in math skills and this program addresses each of them individually.

How did you modify your regular teaching approach as a result of ALEKS?
I did not modify my teaching approach.

How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
My students do not want to use ALEKS at home.

How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
Very little, but we communicate progress with parents at parent/teacher conferences.

Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?
No.

How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
ALEKS is not incorporated into our grading system.

Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
No.

I have witnessed steady and continued progress. The majority of the students feel a sense of pride when they see their percentages grow.
