What challenges did the class or school face in math prior to using ALEKS?
We have struggling students who have various gaps in learning.

How many days per week is class time dedicated to ALEKS?
4 days per week.

What is the average length of a class period when ALEKS is used?
40 minutes.


How do you implement ALEKS?
We use the program and supplement it with weekly topics.

Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?

How do you structure your class period with ALEKS?
Students have three options when working. They can work in ALEKS, work on ALEKS worksheets, or work on topical worksheets. Worksheets are done with teacher supervision.

How did you modify your regular teaching approach as a result of ALEKS?
I am still figuring out how to grade using ALEKS.

How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
Students work on ALEKS from home for 30 minutes a night for a total of 2.5 hours per week.

How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
I sent a lot of emails!


Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?
100 percent.

Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
I really like that each student is working to fill in their knowledge gaps. Students also enjoy ALEKS and have taken to it very well.
