I love the program. I especially like the no multiple choice format so the kids can not just guess, and the regular assessments to check for mastery and catch any objectives the kids may have had too much help with.
What challenges did the class or school face in math prior to using ALEKS?
No consistent independent curriculum supplementary materials.
How many days per week is class time dedicated to ALEKS?

How do you implement ALEKS?
We start the first week by taking the Initial Assessment and learning how to use the program.

I match ALEKS to my textbook.
How do you structure your class period with ALEKS?
Students complete book work, then computer work.
How did you modify your regular teaching approach as a result of ALEKS?
ALEKS gives me valuable one-on-one time either with a student working on the program or by occupying other students while I work away from the computers with a student.
How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
It is always encouraged, but is not required right now.
How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
Not at this point.
Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?
How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
10 percent based on progress or time.
Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
It is not required, but encouraged.
Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
I have good results if the kids are closely monitored.
Are there any best practices you would like to share with other teachers implementing ALEKS?
Have the kids make a large graph to track progress. I'm working on developing a note taking sheet.
