My student is 20 concepts away from finishing her ALEKS course. She takes notes, writes down practice problems, and does everything in the best way possible. It has been the perfect experience for her!!!

What challenges did the class or school face in math prior to using ALEKS?
ALEKS is used to meet the above-level needs of students in special circumstances. It is currently being used for an eighth grader who didn't want to go to the special advanced program, nor go to a regular high school for geometry because it conflicted with her schedule.

5 days per week.

What is the average length of a class period when ALEKS is used?
46 minutes.

Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?

ALEKS is the class period.

How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
The student has not been able to work from home.

How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
I talk with parents at the beginning.

Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?

Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
My student knows she has to complete 211 concepts by the end of the school year. She is very responsible on her own.

Learning Outcomes

Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
ALEKS is the perfect companion for my student. She feels great about her progress and finds pie chart rewarding. She is diligent and motivated to complete the course. ALEKS has been perfect for her and I have enjoyed spending time with her. She has now gone beyond my skills and I am just company. We're both OK with that!!!
