ALEKS is part of the math work shop for Response to Intervention (RtI) students.

We cover topics according to our district's pacing guides.
How do you structure your class period with ALEKS?
The class is broken down into a rotation schedule of three 20 minute segments: ALEKS for tutoring, guided classwork, and independent practice (worksheets).
How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?

I cultivate parental involvement on a regular basis via email.
Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?
It is 20 percent.
How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
ALEKS is used to influence if grades will be rounded up or down; it is determined based on their progress in the program.
Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
Yes, five topics per week.
Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
With ALEKS, students are comfortable with basic math skills, and are able to progress better in their regular math class. RtI students enjoy working on the computer and being able to work at their own pace.
