How many days per week is class time dedicated to ALEKS?
3 days per week
What is the average length of a class period when ALEKS is used?
Do you cover ALEKS concepts in a particular order?
No, we suggest that teachers let the diagnostic assessments guide what the student needs next.
How do you structure your class period with ALEKS?
It differs depending on the site, but best case scenario, it is being used by students while teachers are pulling small groups for targeted instruction.
How often are students required or encouraged to work on ALEKS at home?
We have contests to see who can put in the most time and have the most topics learned.
How do you cultivate parental involvement and support for ALEKS?
We hold math nights where we show parents ALEKS.
Is ALEKS assigned to your students as all or part of their homework responsibilities? If so, what part of the total homework load is it?
We do not do it for homework since not all of our students have computer access at home.
How do you incorporate ALEKS into your grading system?
We do not include it at this time.
Do you require students to make regular amounts of progress in ALEKS?
We are just making sure they complete topics as well as time.
Since using ALEKS, please describe the learning outcomes or progress you have seen.
Students are very excited about ALEKS. Seeing their pies grow and moving up in classes is very rewarding to them.
