ALEKS offers flexible professional development to fit the needs and budgets of all schools and districts. Take advantage of onsite and online training, pre-recorded tutorials, complimentary ALEKS Student Accounts for teachers, a robust implementation strategies database featuring best practices used to achieve dramatic learning outcomes, and more.
Onsite professional development is an ideal option for schools and districts seeking training for a number of teachers at once. Onsite training can be customized to meet specific school or district needs. The customer will select the site and ALEKS will provide the Certified Professional Trainer. The training site must have an Internet-connected computer for each participant and for the Trainer, a computer lab, an LCD projector, a whiteboard, and a viewing screen. Two months’ noticed is required to schedule onsite professional development.
Onsite Full Day Training: $2,500 per day
This fee includes Trainer travel and lodging expenses in the continental United States; additional expenses will apply for trainings in AK and HI.
Online professional development is available to all ALEKS customers on an ongoing basis. There is no charge for the initial ALEKS online professional development session.
Supplemental or additional online professional development is $500 per 90-minute session for up to 25 teachers. Online professional development requires that each participant have access to the Internet and a phone. Two weeks’ notice is required to schedule online professional development.
Teachers using ALEKS with students receive their own complimentary Student Accounts that can be used for online, continuous mathematics learning as a component of their professional development. ALEKS offers convenient, self-paced learning for teachers to use any ALEKS course product to effectively brush up on their math skills. ALEKS can be used to assist teachers in adding higher level courses to their teaching portfolios (e.g. Precalculus, Trigonometry, and AP Statistics), and as part of their preparation for mathematics certification tests.
Teachers can visit the ALEKS Training Center for unlimited “anytime/anywhere” access to free, pre-recorded tutorials, and also join a complimentary, daily online training session. Teachers do not need to confirm or pre-register for any of the training sessions.
Teachers can learn more about how other educators have successfully implemented ALEKS to achieve dramatic learning outcomes by visiting the ALEKS Implementation Strategies Database. This database allows teachers to quickly search for successful ALEKS implementations by grade level, computer scenario, student purpose, state, or keyword that match their similar teaching conditions. Teachers and administrators can also submit their own successful implementations of ALEKS for considered inclusion in the Implementation Strategies Database.
On this interactive bulletin board, teachers can share strategies and information for teaching with ALEKS. ALEKS teachers can log in to the Community via their ALEKS Instructor Module.
