Checkbook registers in ALEKS follow the normal layout of a conventional checkbook register, with columns for Check Number, Date, Description, Payment/Debit, a checkbox for use in reconciliation, Fee, Deposit/Credit, and Balance (Fig. 4.6). You can click on the cells to fill them in, or use Tab or Enter to move from one cell to another. In the Date cell, the abbreviated names of months or their numerical equivalents (e.g., "10" for "October") may be used. The Description cell typically has a drop-down menu from which the correct description may be chosen.
