Sr. Director, ALEKS Operations

Michael Kanaly leads and drives cross-functional partnerships throughout the organization to improve the quality of our products and efficiency/scalability of our operations. He plays a critical role in defining, delivering, and evolving development team operational practices – including strategic planning, budgeting/tracking, agile practices, and internal processes. He also leads Program Management and other development team functions tied to delivery as he works with MHE development and business units to promote and boost key project management objectives (program management best practices, governance processes, compliance policies, and project management training). His work provides oversight, guidance, and alignment of teams together with prioritization, coordination of work, and resourcing (both business resources and consultants).

Mr. Kanaly joined the company in 2014 as a Senior Technology Program Manager and rose through the ranks as the Director of Program Management before being appointed Senior Director of ALEKS Operations.

Prior to joining ALEKS in 2014, Michael worked as a Program Manager in the entertainment industry and at a leading provider of Internet-based postage where he worked in the same capacity.

Mr. Kanaly holds a Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Design and a Minor in Computer Information Technology from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. He also is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
